Happy Pride, it's time to twirl! For one night only, Culture Lab LIC presents BIG GAY DISCO - a 5-hour dance party for everyone. Featuring iconic NYC DJs Dexter Driscoll, Jenny Lion and canteenkilla, and a night full of surprise pop-up performances from up-and-coming nightlife legends; this party is here for queer joy! Dress in your disco finest and get ready to boogie down. Full access to the art gallery at Culture Lab LIC to enjoy and explore. All are welcome, so let's get down on it. See you on the dance floor!

FREE Hip-Hop Dance Class with Yvonne Huatin Chow/House of Chow! ALL LEVELS
Class Description: As Hip-Hop celebrates its 50th year around the sun, let's kick off the Proud Legacy event with Hip-Hop Dance this Sunday, June 23rd at 3pm - 4pm. This movement session will be led by Yvonne Huatin Chow, one of our very own Emerging Artist Residents at Culture Lab! Immerse yourself in a guided Hip-Hop Dance cypher to learn more about the roots of the culture and its art forms. Learn foundational vocabulary spanning from the East Coast to the West Coast in a joyful experience that welcomes all levels.
We will be under tents outdoors with free water to keep cool as we move - or Indoors in the case of rain!
Yvonne Huatin Chow | 周化炜 (she/hers) is a 1st generation, Chinese American, queer woman from the Bay Area, CA (Ohlone Land). In 2005, she moved to the birthplace of Hip-Hop, NYC (Lenape Land) to immerse herself in a culture and dance form that spoke deeply to her. She has been training in Hip-Hop Dance foundations for over two decades, and is now a renowned choreographer and dance educator. In 2015, Yvonne founded House of Chow, a dance organization with the mission of educating, empowering, and unifying Asians in the US through Hip-Hop Dance. Learn more at houseofchow.org

PROUD LEGACY will be a free, family-friendly event created to honor & celebrate the lasting legacy of the LGBTQ+ community's impact on underground music & dance culture.

With special live performances and exciting DJ sets by local/global artists and changemakers, join us to dance all day from 3-9pm as we pay homage to the gay, trans, & queer trailblazers who made and continue to make dance culture and music what it is today!

Looking for some family fun this Pride that's perfect for kids? Look no further! Join drag queen and certified teacher, Cissy Walken, at Culture Lab on Sunday, June 23rd at 4 PM as she hosts a special Pride-themed storytime for all ages!

Audience members get to enjoy a reading of Julián Is A Mermaid by Jessica Love and a creative arts project, art supplies will be provided.
Parents must check in with their families at the front gallery desk and ensure parental supervision is provided throughout the show.

Join us at Culture Lab for Together! Pride 2024 Festival’s “Brunch for Dinner” edition!
Our cast of campy NYC drag artist will serve you a 5 rhinestone brunch for dinner experience where guests get to enjoy decorating a queer waffle (sprinkles and whipped cream included, duh) plus a fabulous Pride show.

Queens Rising & Culture Lab LIC present Say it Loud: Unsung Heroes, an exhibition that pays tribute to queer heroes, both past and present. Whether through painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, or other mediums, we encourage you to explore the lives, achievements, and legacies of these remarkable individuals.​

This exhibition aims to foster dialogue, raise awareness, and celebrate the rich tapestry of LGBTQ+ history and culture. Through art, we hope to honor the courage, strength, and contributions of queer heroes across generations.
